Member communications that support youth development and lifelong maritime learning
Sea Cadets helps young people to develop the confidence and skills they need to navigate our changing world, through activities from sailing and orienteering to drill and band. Marine Society champions the wellbeing and professional development of seafarers, providing advice, educational development and financial support. We produce a magazine for each audience, from planning, writing and sourcing the content through to photography, design and publishing.
The Sea Cadet showcases the experiences young people have with Sea Cadets, tells inspiring stories to get young people thinking about their potential careers, and provides information for parents and volunteers. To cut paper and engage with our young audience, we produce a digital microsite version (theseacadetmagazine.org), creating content that can be shared on social media.
Seafarer News informs members about the support available to seafarers to develop their careers and weather the changes in the maritime sector. Through the voices of seafarers helped by Marine Society, it reminds readers of the important role the charity plays in this industry that’s crucial to so many aspects of our lives, from shipping to offshore energy.
