A leading voice for recreational boating and helping people get on the water
Founded almost 150 years ago, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) exists to get more people into boating and watersports activities, promote safe boating practices and raise the standards of yachting and sailing in the UK. Its vision for the future of sailing and boating is a connected, inspired and inclusive community which brings more people than ever together on water.
The RYA is the national governing body for dinghy, motor and sail cruising, all forms of sail racing, RIBs and sportsboats, windsurfing and personal watercraft. It’s the home of competitive racing and the British Sailing Team, the most successful Olympic classes sailing team in the world. It’s also a leading representative body for inland waterways cruising in the UK and represents the voice of recreational boaters to ensure their views are heard and their right to enjoy the water is upheld.
RYA Magazine is a quarterly, members-only publication providing a range of the latest news and updates on the RYA, combined with more in-depth articles covering all aspects of the boating spectrum.
