Kids’ activity packs for the RSPB

We created a fun and educational pack to engage families during their visit to RSPB nature reserves

Our brief

The RSPB is the UK’s largest nature conservation charity, with almost 200 nature reserves across the country. We partner with the RSPB to create a family-focused interactive pack to guide visitors through their nature reserve experience, creating lasting connections, promoting future site visits and moving families towards full RSPB membership.

Our solution

We took on the planning, commissioning, writing, design and publishing of this ever-changing and expanding pack of content. Working with the RSPB’s locations to serve their needs as well as audience needs, we created an exciting and dynamic visitor experience pack suitable for a range of ages and abilities, for use across the length and breadth of the UK.

Using our experience working on the RSPB youth publications, we produced a content offering led by a cast of engaging wildlife characters to be rolled out at key points across the year. We were also able to facilitate a joined-up family membership approach, to create a consistent user journey from first nature reserve visit to membership sign-up.

Our production expertise and experience allowed us to deliver a product consisting of multiple complex parts to multiple locations across the country. We were also able to facilitate location customisation and promoting the content on their sites.

The results

We’ve had a 100% increase in orders from RSPB reserves after the first pack.

“These are absolutely gorgeous! I am so impressed by how much content Our Media manages to pack into these. I’ve also been on sites that have received their Big Picnic packs this week and they’re of such a high quality. The reserve teams are so excited to show them to visitors – huge thank you to the team.”
