The Osteopath magazine redesign

A complete redesign of the magazine for the General Osteopathic Council

Our brief

The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) is the professional regulator for osteopaths in the UK – the equivalent of the General Medical Council for GPs. Their bimonthly magazine, The Osteopath, is their main channel of communication, and contains essential updates for everyone working in the profession. We were asked to redesign the magazine to make it more engaging and accessible, without sacrificing the authority and detail appropriate to a health regulator.

Our solution

We gave the magazine a complete makeover, introducing a new fontset, infographics and approach to illustration. Complex information is now carefully structured so that readers can navigate content more easily, and there’s a greater focus on personal perspectives from both GOsC and working osteopaths.  As well as ongoing design, we consult on editorial strategy and handle advertising sales into the magazine.

The results

“I would highly recommend Immediate Media. Their creativity, enthusiasm and dedication is refreshing. The team is also lovely to work with, down to earth and responsive to our needs.”
Liz Niman | GOsC Head of Communications and Engagement
